Technical Manager / Director

As Technical Manager, Sam is responsible for ensuring Flatworks’ slab designs meet the specific requirements of each client and project, incorporating the latest in concrete materials and construction Technology.

Prior to founding Flatworks Ltd, Sam was the Business Development Manager for one of New Zealand’s leading industrial flooring specialists. Sam has a track record of successfully leading major flooring projects, developing new products, and building relationships within the wider industry through his work and active participation in industry conferences and organizations.

Sam holds engineering qualifications from the University of Canterbury and Leeds University and has extensive experience within the construction sector including technical and sales management, industrial flooring design and construction.

Commercial Manager / Director

Flatworks Commercial Manager, Fred is an expert in helping clients manage commercial risk on highly complex flooring projects, from budget stage through to project completion.

Fred is a qualified Civil Engineer and started his career as a Civil Site and Project Engineer, before transitioning to the commercial side of the construction industry. Recently Fred was Estimating and Pre-Construction Manager at one of New Zealand’s largest industrial flooring specialists for over a decade.

His expertise encompasses both technical and commercial facets of construction, and has been key to managing tenders, negotiations, and supplier relationships for many of New Zealand’s largest industrial flooring projects to date.
